Episode 59: "I'm just excited to start doing this job" with Ben Rutledge

Published on: 17th July, 2023

It seems to have all started at 3 years old when a young New Zealander asked his parents for a fire helmet. After traveling nearly around the world, working in the service industry, turning wrenches on race cars, and doing machine work, Ben will be starting his fire service career with the Henrico County Division of Fire later this month.

In this episode we learn how he made his way from New Zealand to Virginia and his desire and the process to become a firefighter.
