Karl Thompson got his start as a 16 year old volunteer firefighter in Maryland. Today he is a 50 year veteran of the fire service with experience in 4 states and multiple departments. His daily history emails are distributed far and wide to educate those in the fire service of historic fires that have shaped the service.
