Episode 27: Chief Rick Burch - Family Traditions Part 1

Published on: 25th October, 2021

This legend's career and family history is so long it's going to take two episodes to get it all in! His Grandfather started the Family Tradition in the Richmond (VA) Fire Bureau when horses pulled the engines, his father started the Richmond Flying Squad, and he was instrumental in the evolution of two Virginia fire departments into the 21st Century.

Meet Fire Chief Richard E. Burch Jr., a third generation firefighter who not only served his local fire departments, but the state's fire service, and our nation as an Army Veteran. In part one we talk about his family history and how he was born into the business as well as his journey to a Deputy Chief position in Hanover.

Part two will be up soon, make sure you catch both episodes!
